At home, anywhere in Montreal

Computer help for when nothing works.

Some days the computer does as it pleases, and there is nobody around to ask. We come to your home, or we look at it remotely if that is simpler. We sort the problem out, and we take the time to show you what had happened.

  • Price agreed before we start
  • You pay only if it is fixed

What we see most often

Nine times out of ten, it is one of these.

  • A window announcing a virus that refuses to close
  • Wi-Fi that will not connect, at home or in your residence
  • A printer that stopped answering
  • A forgotten password, an account you can no longer get into
  • A phone that says “storage full” and stops taking photos
  • A new device still sitting in its box
  • Email that no longer comes in, or that overflows with ads
  • Text gone too small, an icon that vanished

How much does it cost?

Two prices, and you know which one applies before we start.

Simple fix

One or two problems to sort out

One problem, or two: a window to make go away, Wi-Fi to reconnect. This is by far the most common case.

$50

Complex fix

Three or more, tangled together

Trouble that drags more trouble along: a device to set up again, accounts to recover, and the rest that follows. We take the time it needs.

$90

We never run the clock.

The price is agreed before we start, based on what you describe over the phone. And you pay at the end, only if the problem is really gone.

On site or remotely, whichever suits you

A lot of these are just as easy to sort out remotely as in person.

Remotely, over your screen

We use TeamViewer, the remote-access software that large companies use for their own tech support.

You are the one who opens it and gives us the code shown on your screen. You watch everything we do while we do it, and you end the session whenever you like.

At your home, in person

If you would rather have us there, we come. At home, in your residence, or at the café down the street if that suits you better.

We fix it, and we show you.

We do not just fix it and leave. You stay seated next to us, you see the steps, you ask your questions as we go. If you want to be able to do it yourself next time, we leave you notes.

And when a problem goes beyond what we can safely do, we say so. A device that will not turn on needs a repair shop, not us. We will tell you where to go.

Fake alerts and fake phone calls

Fake virus warnings and calls claiming to come from “Microsoft” or from your bank go after seniors first. If a window like that shows up, click nowhere and call us. We will look at it together.

We never call you unless you have booked an appointment, and we never ask you to pay during a session.

  1. 1Never dial the number shown in an alert window.
  2. 2Never let anyone you did not call yourself take control of your screen.
  3. 3When in doubt, call us. We look at it with you, and it commits you to nothing.

Frequently asked questions

How soon can you help?

We book weekday evenings from 5 to 9 p.m., and all day Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is usually a slot within a few days, on site or remotely. The booking calendar shows what is free where you live.

Do you repair broken devices?

No, we are not a repair shop. A cracked screen or a device that will not turn on gets fixed elsewhere, and we will tell you where. Anything to do with settings, software, accounts and passwords, Wi-Fi, email or the printer is for us, on a Windows or Mac computer as much as on a tablet, iPad, iPhone or Android phone.

Is remote support safe?

Yes, because you are the one holding the door. We use TeamViewer: you open the software, you give us the code shown on your screen, you follow everything live and you cut the session whenever you want. And we will never call you out of the blue to offer a remote session; you are always the one who books.

What if the problem comes back?

We drop by and fix it again, at no charge, until it stops coming back.

I clicked on something suspicious, is it serious?

Most of the time, no: nothing irreversible has happened. Call us soon enough for us to check. And if you gave out a card number or banking details, call your financial institution right away, before you even call us.

Do you come to residences?

Yes. At home, in seniors’ residences or at a café, anywhere on the island of Montreal: the Plateau, Rosemont, Villeray, Ahuntsic, Côte-des-Neiges, NDG, Verdun, LaSalle, Hochelaga, Saint-Léonard, Pointe-aux-Trembles and the rest.
